Harmonic Society Armenian Association of Social Workers

Founded in 2004 in Yerevan, the Armenian Association of Social Workers (AASW) is a non-governmental, non-political and not-for-profit organization formed by academically qualified social workers. The AASW is the first organization in the country that advocates for the rights, recognition and importance of social workers and their clients in Armenia. AASW’s approach is:

•  to support and strengthen social work by working with and through government structures to promote social protection of vulnerable groups and recognition of the profession and
•  to strengthen the practice of social work in Armenia from the ground-up by developing a strong social work community and providing support services to social workers to improve their competency and effectiveness.
