Human Rights Watch (“HRW”) is seeking a Researcher to monitor human rights in Central Asia. A background working on human rights concerns in the Central Asia region is required. Oral and written communications skills in English and Russian are essential; knowledge of another Central Asian language is highly desirable. Experience living or working in the region is also preferred. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, well-organized, able to work quickly and well under pressure both independently and as a member of a team, and demonstrate a commitment to international human rights. This position will preferably be based in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan but other locations may be considered. The Researcher reports to the Executive Director of the Europe and Central Asia (“ECA”) Division, based in Berlin.

The United States Embassy in Armenia is pleased to announce the Study of the United States Institutes Summer 2020. The program will take place at various colleges, universities, and academic institutions throughout the United States over the course of six weeks beginning in or after June 2020.  Each institute includes a four-week academic residency component and up to two weeks of an integrated study tour to another region of the United States. 

The Study of the U.S. Institutes for Secondary Educators will provide three multinational groups of 20 experienced secondary school educators (including teachers, administrators, teacher trainers, curriculum developers, textbook writers, ministry of education officials, and others) with a deeper understanding of U.S. society, education, and culture – past and present.
